Singapore Household Wealth Up Despite Slowing Economy

Total household wealth in Singapore grew 2.9 per cent this year to US$1.1 trillion (S$1.56 trillion) despite the slowing economy, a new study released yesterday has found.

The study, the Global Wealth Report by Credit Suisse Research Institute, said that this wealth is projected to rise by 3.5 per cent every year over the next five years to US$1.4 trillion in 2021.

Across the whole Asia-Pacific, total household wealth grew a stronger 4.5 per cent to US$79.96 trillion this year - the highest rate of increase among the regions. READ MORE | DOWNLOAD ARTICLE

Average Wealth Of S’poreans, Including Assets, The Highest In Asia: Credit Suisse
(TODAY, 22 November 2016)

SINGAPORE — Despite a slowing economy and uncertain labour market, Singapore’s adult population has an average wealth of about US$276,885 (S$395,000) per person — up 1.4 per cent compared with the middle of last year, an annual wealth report by the Credit Suisse Research Institute found.

The Global Wealth Report ranked the Republic top in Asia and seventh globally among major economies.

AWDC Has Singapore And Malaysia In Its Sights

The representatives of a number of the Antwerp diamond companies took part in the Belgian Trade and Economic Princely Mission in the presence of Princess Astrid of Belgian; the members of the mission visited Singapore and Malaysia in the last ten days of November. The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDС) representing the interests of the Belgian diamantaires held several exclusive business-to-business events during this visit.
